Last Day for Annual Meeting Hotel Reservations

Friday, September 30, is the deadline for hotel reservations for NOLHGA's 22nd Annual Meeting, which will be held October 25 and 26, 2005, at the Westin Resort, Hilton Head Island in Hilton Head Island, S.C. There are only a few rooms remaining in the NOLHGA room block, and today is the last day NOLHGA can guarantee the special rate of $185/night. In addition, the registration deadline for the meeting is October 10. If you have not yet registered or made your hotel reservations, we urge you to do so as soon as possible. Hotel information, online registration, a meeting schedule, a list of featured speakers, and other information can be found on the meeting Web page.

In the next few weeks, the meeting page will be updated with information concerning the MPC meeting that will be held at the Westin Resort on October 24. Mutual Security Life Estate Makes Final Distribution

In connection with the closeout of the Mutual Security Life (MSL) estate, on September 26, 2005, NOLHGA sent each affected guaranty association (i) a check representing that association's share of the final distribution payment from the estate; (ii) a comprehensive schedule showing the allocations for MSL policy-level distributions to guaranty associations, including the final distribution; and (iii) the receivership court's final order on the liquidator's final accounting. In accordance with the order, the MSL estate has been (or soon will be) closed out.

Tretick Leaves NOLHGA

NOLHGA Accounting Assistant Nancy Tretick has left NOLHGA to take over the position of education and programs coordinator with the Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington, D.C. Tretick joined NOLHGA as a receptionist in 2002, and all of us wish her well in her future endeavors. Her last day was September 29, 2005.
