Reservation Deadline for Annual Meeting Approaching
The deadline to make room reservations at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, host hotel for NOLHGA’s 2018 Annual Meeting, is September 26. After that date, NOLHGA can no longer guarantee the special room rate of $269/night plus tax. We encourage anyone who hasn’t registered for the meeting or made their hotel reservations to do so as soon as possible.
Hotel reservations and meeting registration can be made through the Annual Meeting website. The site also has a preliminary meeting schedule, speaker bios, and other meeting information.
The 2018 Annual Meeting will be held on October 18 and 19 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. The registration fee is $650 for members and $775 for non-members. The guest fee of $125 offers guests access to the Welcome Reception on October 17, the Welcome Luncheon and Taste of Seattle reception on October 18, and breakfast on October 19. There is also an MPC meeting scheduled for October 17. There is no registration fee for the MPC meeting.

Staff Contact - Imerica Life & Health Insurance Company (Arkansas)Imerica Estate Closing—Final Distribution Payments Made
The Imerica Life & Health Insurance Company receivership has been closed, and final distribution payments went out to affected guaranty associations this week.
Imerica was an Arkansas-domiciled company, based in Denver and licensed in 33 states. The company primarily wrote high-deductible health insurance. Imerica was placed in liquidation in May 2010. Policy and claims administration on behalf of affected state guaranty associations began immediately thereafter, and the last of the business was terminated as of May 31, 2015. Since that time, the receiver has worked toward winding up the estate. The petition to close the estate was filed on June 20 and granted on August 2.
Distribution funds totaling $2,666,532.40 were sent to affected guaranty associations earlier this week. These funds included excess deposit proceeds, assigned by the receiver for the benefit of affected associations. Distributions from this estate were sufficient to pay approximately 65% of guaranty association Class 1 administrative expenses. However, there were not sufficient assets to pay guaranty association Class 2 or Class 3 claims. A copy of the closing order is available on Quest.
