September 16 Hotel Deadline for 2011 Annual Meeting
The hotel reservation cut-off date for NOLHGA's 2011 Annual Meeting is September 16. After that date, NOLHGA can no longer guarantee the special rate of $219/night plus tax at the InterContinental Chicago. Rooms are filling up fast, so we encourage all attendees to make their reservations as soon as possible. Reservations can be made through the meeting Web page in the "Hotel" section.
NOLHGA's 28th Annual Meeting will be held on October 11 and 12; an MPC meeting will be held on October 10. For more information about the meeting, please visit the meeting Web page.

The New York Superintendent of Insurance filed a petition for the liquidation of ELNY on September 1, 2011. The full filing will be posted on NOLHGA's QUEST online receivership library for access by authorized users from affected guaranty associations. Task Force Chair - Jack Falkenbach; Staff Contact -Bill Wilson Passes Away
NOLHGA is saddened to announce that Bill Wilson, who served three terms on the NOLHGA Board of Directors, passed away on August 13, 2011. He was 72.
In addition to his work with NOLHGA, Bill spent 40 years in the life and health insurance industry, serving as General Counsel for VALIC, Bankers Life Nebraska, California Western Life, and Midwest Life. His warmth and humor will be missed, and our condolences go out to his wife Janet and their family.
