Consumers United Estate Closes
On October 3, 2013, Vice Chancellor Laster of the Delaware Court of Chancery signed the final order and judgment closing the Consumers United Insurance Company estate after 19 years. The final distribution to the guaranty associations was made in February 2012 in the amount of $75,758.76, bringing each affected state to a 32.5% recovery from the estate for policy-level claims. The Wisconsin Insurance Security Fund, a not-for-profit entity located in Madison, Wisconsin, is currently in search of an Executive Director. The Fund operates to pay certain insurance claims when insurance companies are ordered into liquidation. The job entails administration of a small staff and engagement in national issues of importance to the insurance community. Some travel is involved.
The successful candidate should have strong administrative skills and knowledge of the insurance industry: preferably over 10 years of experience in this area. A college degree is required.
