
Legal Seminar Registration Opens
Registration for NOLHGA’s 27th Legal Seminar, which will take place on July 11–12, 2019, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston’s historic Back Bay, is now open. Attendees can register for the Seminar on the Legal Seminar/MPC meeting website.
The registration fee is $950, but NOLHGA is offering a $55 early bird discount for those who register by June 7. In addition to the Seminar, an MPC meeting will be held on July 10 (and July 9, if necessary). There is no registration fee for the MPC meeting.
NOLHGA has secured a room rate for this meeting of $279/night (one queen bed) or $309/night (two double beds or one king bed) plus tax. Staff Contact -Kopp Named New Executive Director of Missouri GAs
Tamara W. Kopp has been named the new Executive Director of the Missouri Insurance Guaranty Associations (the Missouri Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association and Missouri Property & Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association) by the associations’ Executive Committee. She takes the helm on October 1, 2019, when Chuck Renn retires after managing the associations since 1992.
Ms. Kopp has spent her legal career with the Missouri Department of Insurance, most recently as receivership counsel representing the receiver for failed insurance companies. She brings an understanding of government, insurance regulation, and company resolutions. She has served on the Boards of Directors for the International Association of Insurance Receivers (IAIR) and the Women Lawyers’ Association of Mid-Missouri (WLAMM). Ms. Kopp also represented the Missouri Department of Insurance on various National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) committees, task forces, and working groups. As Executive Director, she will continue her involvement with the NAIC and IAIR while adding the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds (NCIGF) and the National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations (NOLHGA) to her schedule.

Ms. Kopp said, “Chuck has built a solid organization. I’m looking forward to continuing his level of excellent service for Missouri insureds to keep promises made.”
Ms. Kopp earned her law degree from the University of Missouri—Columbia and her bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
