Paul Sharma to Speak at Legal Seminar
Paul Sharma, Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal and co-head of the firm’s Financial Industry Advisory Services practice in London, will speak at NOLHGA’s Legal Seminar in July. Sharma has over 20 years of experience as a top U.K., EU, and global regulator of banks and insurance companies. As an expert on international solvency regulation of insurers, he will share his perspectives on the development of international standards and practices, the latest thinking on designations of companies as “systemically important,” and the prospects for orderly resolution of significant insurance groups doing business on a transnational basis.
NOLHGA’s 22nd Annual Legal Seminar will take place on July 17–18, 2014, at the New York Hilton Midtown. The seminar will be held in conjunction with an MPC meeting on July 15–16. NOLHGA has secured a room rate for these meetings of $259 (single)/$269 (double) per night plus tax, and reservations can be made through the meeting Web page.
The registration fee for the 2014 Legal Seminar is $850, with a $55 “early bird” discount on all registrations received by June 6; there is no fee to attend the MPC meeting, though some events may be restricted to guaranty association members only.
