If you have not yet registered for the meeting, you can do so on the site, which also features a link for online hotel reservations.
Please note that the hotel reservation deadline is April 1. After that date, NOLHGA can no longer guarantee the room rate of $259/night plus tax. If you have not made your hotel reservations, we encourage you to do so soon.

The Ohio Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association is looking for an accountant to be responsible for the accounting, reporting, and other financial matters related to the operation of the association as well as the Ohio Insurance Guaranty Association (the state’s P&C association) and the West Virginia Insurance Guaranty Association. The three associations are governed by member company Boards of Directors.
The applicant must maintain a high standard for quality, accuracy, timely preparation, and analysis; evaluate, monitor, and look for ways to improve internal controls; and manage the day-to-day accounting operations. The applicant must also be flexible, willing to learn, and be able to work on any matter in addition to specific accounting duties. The ability to communicate and coordinate with receivers, state liquidators, other guaranty organizations, and the Boards of Directors is imperative. This position reports to the President.
We forecast a 30-hour work week. The salary range is $54,000 to $74,000, determined based on qualifications and experience. Minimal travel may be required. We offer a flexible schedule and generous benefits.
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- College degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
- Five years’ experience in financial accounting.
- Experience in the insurance industry.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient with Sage or similar accounting software, as well as Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software.
- A CPA is desirable.
