Hotel Reservation Deadline for Legal Seminar
The deadline for making hotel reservations for NOLHGA's 20th Annual Legal Seminar, which will be held on July 26-27, 2012, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, is Monday, July 2. After that date, NOLHGA can no longer guarantee the special rate of $249/night plus tax for deluxe accommodations (standard rooms in the NOLHGA block have already sold out).
Attendees can make reservations online through the Legal Seminar Web page, which also features a preliminary program, online registration, and other meeting information. The page also offers information on the MPC meeting scheduled for July 24 and 25.

Staff Contact - National States Insurance Company (Missouri)Assumption True-Up Payment Made
On June 13, NOLHGA transferred $1.7 million on behalf of affected guaranty associations to Family Life Insurance Company for the true-up payment associated with the life assumption transaction. With this payment the life assumption agreement is now essentially closed, although the agreement does allow for one final error correction to be made if notice is provided by August 1, 2012. The task force anticipates only very minor corrections, should any be required.
