California Historian to Give Lunch Address at Legal Seminar
Professor Charles A. Fracchia, noted historian and author, will deliver the keynote address at NOLHGA's 12th Annual Legal Seminar, which will be held August 21 and 22, 2003, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
In his talk, titled "Gold Shapes the City," Professor Fracchia will explain his theory that the California Gold Rush was San Francisco's "birth trauma" and the event that created a unique urban mass in the United States. Fracchia, a native of San Francisco, has spent more than 40 years in the investment business while developing a parallel career in teaching and writing. He is the author of 10 books, including three on the history of San Francisco.

Staff Contact -State GA Web Sites Go Live
In the past few weeks, several state guaranty associations have unveiled Web sites using the site template created by the State GA Web Site Development Committee. The associations include:
Hawaii: www.hilifega.org
Kansas: www.kslifega.org
North Carolina: www.nclifega.org
North Dakota: www.ndlifega.org
Rhode Island: www.rilifega.org
South Dakota: www.sdlifega.org
Virginia: www.valifega.org
Wisconsin: www.wilifega.org
To create their Web sites, each guaranty association supplied content using a Web Site Content Guide developed by the committee. The content was added to the site template, and each association reviewed its site before approving the site to "go live."
More than 30 guaranty associations have expressed interest in establishing a Web presence using the committee's template and NOLHGA's site-hosting capabilities (NOLHGA hosts the association Web sites). Several associations are in the process of reviewing their nearly completed sites, while others are still drafting site content. If any guaranty associations have questions about the State GA Web Site Development Committee's site template, please contact Committee Chair Mark Femal ([email protected]) or Sean McKenna (703.787.4106; [email protected]).
