Final Distribution Approved
On June 9, 2011, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania approved the liquidator's October 2010 petition for a final estate distribution. Although it appears this is a final distribution, the court's order denied the motion to discharge the liquidator as premature, since there was a question from the court concerning unreimbursed administrative expenses incurred by the liquidator. The task force does not believe this will impact the amount distributed to the guaranty associations. It is our understanding the distributions will be made to NOLHGA during the week of July 10.

During the week of July 3, 2011, the Texas guaranty association and Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company completed an assumption reinsurance transaction that, effective July 1, 2011, transfers the remaining 52,553 Memorial Service Life Insurance Company policies protected by the Texas guaranty association to Investors Heritage. In conjunction with this transaction, the Memorial Service Life Insurance Company Special Deputy Receiver assigned the National Prearranged Services prepaid funeral service contracts associated with these Memorial Service Life insurance policies to Investors Heritage.
