The agenda for NOLHGA’s 2020 Legal Seminar, COVID-19: Disaster Planning/Preparedness & the Insurance Marketplace—our first “virtual” Seminar—has been posted to the meeting website. Confirmed speakers include:

NOLHGA’s 2020 Legal Seminar will be held online on July 29–31. We have extended the early bird registration discount through the July 4th weekend. August MPC Meeting Preliminary Schedule Posted

The preliminary schedule for the August 5–6, 2020, MPC meeting, which will be conducted online as two Zoom webinars, has been posted to the meeting website.

The meeting will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on August 5 and 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on August 6 (all times are Eastern Daylight Time). The first day consists of the MPC Executive Committee meeting and the first part of the MPC General Session, and the second day features the second part of the MPC General Session—closed-session presentations for several insolvencies (the affected guaranty associations are listed on the schedule).

Registration for the August MPC meeting is not open yet. In the next few weeks, NOLHGA will distribute a message asking attendees to register for one or both of the Zoom webinars. Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to the webinar—you can add that message to your electronic calendar using a link at the bottom of the message. As a reminder, please do not forward the webinar links to anyone—all attendees must register individually for one or both sessions of the MPC meeting.

Jim Lenaghan Retires from New Jersey GA

Jim Lenaghan has stepped down from his role as Executive Director of the New Jersey Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association, which he joined in December 2006 after working for MetLife for almost 22 years. His last day was June 30, 2020. Jim served on NOLHGA's ELNY and Penn Treaty/ANIC Task Forces as well as the Coverage/Claims and Legal Committees.
