It has been brought to our attention that the new version of AOL (9.0) mistakenly places e-mail from NOLHGA into a user's Spam Folder. If you have been experiencing this problem, the following steps will correct it.
Deactivate the Spam Filter: To deactivate the filter, you must first change a setting located under Mailbox Options (the drop-down menu on the right of the screen) when you are in your mailbox. Select BLOCK UNWANTED EMAIL. You can also access this setting from the AOL Mail Center Window by clicking on "Manage Your Mail, Mail Control, Be in Control." When you do so, the Mail and Spam Controls window appears. In the first column ("Control Who I Get Mail From"), check the box for ALLOW MAIL FROM ALL USERS. Under the second column ("Control What Is in the Mail I Get"), there is a check box for MAIL FILTERED BY AOL'S ADVANCED SPAM FILTER. Uncheck that box, and you will be able to receive e-mail from NOLHGA.
Keep your Spam Filter: You can also receive NOLHGA e-mail without deactivating the Spam Filter. Simply open your Spam Folder, select any individual NOLHGA e-mail message, and Press the THIS IS NOT SPAM button. AOL will keep a record of this in your settings and allow that individual's e-mail to be received.
Either of these steps should alleviate any problems with NOLHGA's e-mails being forwarded to the Spam Folder. If you have any questions, please contact Kenny Bullock, NOLHGA's manager of technology systems, at 703.787.4107 or [email protected].
