2007 Conflicts Surveys and Antitrust Responses Overdue

NOLHGA’s 2007 Conflicts and Antitrust surveys were mailed January 30, 2007, to all NOLHGA members, personnel, and representatives, including NOLHGA’s Board members, committee and task force members, and consultants. The completed surveys were due by February 19. For those who have not yet completed and returned their responses, we ask that you please do so at this time.

These materials must be completed on an annual basis. The forms should only take a few minutes to complete, and your timely response is very important. Additional forms are available upon request. Tennessee and Wisconsin Appoint New Insurance Commissioners

Insurance departments in both Tennessee and Wisconsin are operating under new leadership as of January 2007. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen named Leslie Newman the new commissioner of Tennessee’s Department of Commerce and Insurance. Newman, a partner in a private firm, has experience with numerous public agencies and regulatory law from her previous service as a municipal attorney in Nashville. Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle appointed Sean Dilweg to head the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance in Wisconsin. Dilweg, who holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration, most recently served as executive assistant at the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Dilweg has also worked as a legislative aide, policy advisor, and lobbyist.
