Task Force Collecting GA Expenses for SAIC

The AF&L/Senior American Task Force is working to collect information concerning guaranty association expenses incurred in connection with Senior American Insurance Company (SAIC) for purposes of strategic planning and discussions with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance. We are asking for expense data for the reporting period of inception through December 31, 2019, for SAIC only. If your association has not already done so, please submit your expense information no later than February 21, 2020.

Expense data should be submitted via NOLHGA’s online proof of claim survey tool. A link to the survey tool was included in the February 7 email notice to affected associations. First National Life Distribution Approved

On January 24, 2020, the Liquidator filed his Report on Claims and Recommendations with respect to First National Life Insurance Company (FNLIC), recommending approval of guaranty association Class 1 and Class 2 claims in full. Following approval, the Liquidator will distribute an additional $575,995.14 to the guaranty associations, bringing guaranty association recoveries to 100% of Class 1 and Class 2 claims. The by-state breakdown of that distribution was circulated to affected associations via email on February 10.
