Hartford LTD Block Assumption
Over one-third of state insurance departments have approved the agreement transferring the LTD block to The Hartford. As of February 1, The Hartford began administering and paying all LTD claims. Complete information will be provided during the February 23 MPC meeting.
Task Force Chair - Mark Femal; Staff Contact - Kentucky Central Life (KY)Survey Responses and Expense Data Due
In January, the KCL task force sent out a survey form to all affected guaranty associations seeking information regarding any unpaid assessments owed by KCL. Responses were due February 7th. We have received most of the responses and want to thank all of you who have sent in that data. If you have not yet sent in your survey response, we ask that you please take a few minutes to fill in the requested information and return the form to NOLHGA.
In addition, expense data for 4th quarter 2000 is due. Reporting forms for 4th quarter expenses were sent out by fax to all affected guaranty associations on January 24th with a noted return date of Tuesday, February 13th. For those states that have not yet submitted their expense data, we ask that you please send that information to us at this time. If you have no expenses to report for that period, please indicate that on the form. We would be glad to provide duplicate reporting forms upon request.

Mark your calendars! NOLHGA's 10th Annual Legal Seminar will be held in New York City for 2001 and has been scheduled for Thursday and Friday, July 12-13th at the New York Marriott Marquis. The Legal Seminar Planning Committee will meet next week to begin preparing the program. Meg Melusen will be the NOLHGA staff contact for the event. Please contact Meg with any questions about the event or suggestions regarding topics to be included in this year's program. We appreciate the enthusiasm and support of all our members and will strive to make the 2001 Legal Seminar the best yet.
The Marriott Marquis is located at 1535 Broadway in the heart of Times Square. There are thirty Broadway theaters within three blocks, and the hotel is within walking distance of Fifth Avenue shopping, the Museum of Modern Art and many New York landmarks. NOLHGA negotiated a favorable room rate of $199 for seminar attendees which will be honored for the entire week of the event including the following weekend. Details regarding reservation information will be published in the near future.
