On January 29, 2020, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court granted an application filed by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department to place Senior Health Insurance Company of Pennsylvania (SHIP) in rehabilitation. The court’s order requires the Rehabilitator to prepare and file a preliminary plan of rehabilitation with the court by April 22, 2020, which shall include a timeline for the preparation of a final plan of rehabilitation.

NOLHGA has formed a SHIP Task Force, which is chaired by Pamela E. Olsen, Esq. (Minnesota and Nebraska). The task force also includes Amanda Barbera (Indiana), Bart Boles (Texas), John Colpean (Michigan), Michelle Robleto (Florida), Beth Hoffman (Maryland), Joe Horvath (Pennsylvania), Ted Lewis (Utah), and Todd Thakar (California). Bill Fisher (Massachusetts) and Nick Thompson (UnitedHealth Group) serve on the task force as non-voting members.
