Annual Meeting Transportation Form Available Online
A form to arrange for ground transportation from Jacksonville International Airport to the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island (one-way or roundtrip) is available in the "Meeting Resources" section of the Annual Meeting Web page. The form should be faxed or e-mailed to the transportation provider in advance of the meeting; contact information is listed on the form. Cabs from the airport to the resort are also available for approximately $45 one-way.
NOLHGA's 24th Annual Meeting will be held October 9-10, 2007, at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in Amelia Island, Fla. The opt-out package for the assumption reinsurance agreement with Philadelphia American Life Insurance Company (PALIC) was e-mailed to guaranty associations on August 23, 2007. PALIC will be assuming the remaining in-force covered obligations of the London Pacific annuities that are being administered by the company on behalf of the guaranty associations. The closing date is October 1.
There is a 30-day opt-out period for guaranty associations to decide whether to participate in the assumption transaction. This period will expire on September 24. The opt-out package includes an overview of the transaction, payment instructions, due dates, and a funding schedule. Guaranty associations will be contributing $21.5 million for the October 1 closing.
