CBLIC & BLIC Liquidation Order Appealed
On April 9, 2024, GBIG Holdings (the shareholder) filed its Petition for Discretionary Review, asking the North Carolina Supreme Court to review the decision issued by the North Carolina Court of Appeals affirming the Liquidation Order for Colorado Bankers Life Insurance Company and Bankers Life Insurance Company. The Liquidation Order is not scheduled to become effective until approximately 90 days after the North Carolina Supreme Court either declines to review the petition or issues a decision affirming the order.
