Coastal States Life Insurance Company | GA
Company Overview
Coastal States Life Insurance Company, an insurer domiciled in Georgia, was placed in rehabilitation in 1992 and in liquidation in 1996. The state life and health insurance guaranty associations helped arrange for Security First Life Insurance Company (who became MetLife Investors USA Insurance Company) to assume all of Coastal States’ in-force policies as of September 30, 1996. The Liquidator finalized the liquidation and dissolution of Coastal States in December 2004.
Policy & Claims Administration
Policies of an insolvent company are often transferred to a financially sound insurance company. If policies are not transferred to another company, the policies are continued and claims administered by either the guaranty associations or a third-party administrator (TPA) working on behalf of the associations. Please contact the company/TPA listed below or the guaranty association in your state of residence for more information about your policy.
MetLife Investors USA Insurance Company (formerly known as Security First Life Insurance Company) transferred the former Coastal States life Insurance Company policies to the three companies listed below. Policyholders should contact these companies directly for further assistance or the guaranty association in their state of residence.
