
Deadlines Approach for NOLHGA Annual Meeting Registration & Reservations
The cut-off date for making hotel reservations for NOLHGA's 22nd Annual Meeting, which will be held October 25 and 26, 2005, at the Westin Resort, Hilton Head Island in Hilton Head, S.C., is September 30. After that date, NOLHGA can no longer guarantee room availability or the special NOLHGA rate of $185/night. In addition, the registration deadline for the meeting is October 10.
Hotel information, online registration, a preliminary schedule, a list of featured speakers, and other meeting information can be found on the meeting Web page. If you have not yet registered or made your hotel reservations, we urge you to do so as soon as possible.
In the next few weeks, the meeting page will be updated with additional Annual Meeting information as well as information about the MPC meeting that will be held at the Westin Resort on October 24. Staff Contact -Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Bowman Added to Annual Meeting Program
Julie Benafield Bowman, commissioner of the Arkansas Insurance Department, will speak at NOLHGA's 22nd Annual Meeting. Commissioner Bowman is scheduled to speak on the morning of October 26. A preliminary schedule and other meeting information can be found on the meeting Web page.
Ms. Bowman, who was appointed insurance commissioner in January 2005 by Governor Mike Huckabee, is the second female commissioner in the history of the Arkansas Insurance Department. Prior to assuming the commissioner's post, Ms. Bowman served as CEO of the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission from 1998 to 2005, where she was instrumental in expanding the services of the Health and Safety Division, redesigning and streamlining all the commission's forms, and revising and introducing several of the commission's rules. Before joining the commission, she served as general counsel at the Arkansas Development Finance Authority from 1996 to 1998 and as attorney supervisor of the Workers' Compensation Fraud Investigation Unit of the Arkansas Insurance Department from 1993 to 1996.
