Legal Seminar Presents a View from Congress

NOLHGA's 14th Annual Legal Seminar will include insight into the Capitol Hill view of insurance from two experts from the United States Senate. Andrew Olmem, counsel to the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; and Joi Sheffield, legislative counsel from the Office of Senator Tim Johnson (D-S. Dak.); will discuss events in Washington, both in this Congress and beyond. The National Insurance Act was introduced by Senators Johnson and Sununu (R-N.H.) in April 2006, but there are many economic and public policy considerations in play potentially affecting the industry.

NOLHGA's 14th Annual Legal Seminar will be held August 3 and 4, 2006, at The Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore, Md. (an MPC meeting will be held August 1 and 2). A preliminary agenda and registration materials are available on the meeting Web page, and registration brochures are available from NOLHGA. The deadline for registering for both meetings and making hotel reservations is July 7, 2006.
