Insolvency Agreements Panel Slated for Legal Seminar
A panel focusing on critical agreements in insurance insolvencies is scheduled for NOLHGA's 2009 Legal Seminar, which will be held on July 9 and 10 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. The panel is scheduled for the morning of July 10.
The presentation will be structured as a mock guaranty association Board meeting regarding a mock insolvency, and it will cover the fundamental concepts from critical agreements that have previously been used in insurance insolvencies, including joint and common interest agreements, service agreements, assumption agreements, early access agreements, and liquidation trusts. The "Board members" will be played by Pam Olsen (Nebraska) and Candie Kinch (Idaho), while the "association counsel" will be played by Kevin Griffith (Baker & Daniels) and Joel Glover (Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons). The audience will be encouraged to assist Board members in peppering counsel with questions by acting in the role of other member insurers attending the meeting.

The reservation deadline for the July 2009 Legal Seminar and MPC meeting is June 8. After that date, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago will release NOLHGA's room block and there is no guarantee that rooms will continue to be available or that the NOLHGA room rate of $215/night plus tax will apply.
