Colorado GA Seeks Applications for Administrator

The Life and Health Insurance Protection Association in Colorado is seeking applications for a well-qualified candidate to fill the position of Administrator for the Association. The Association is a non-profit insurance industry–supported organization which handles and pays, pursuant to statute, insurance claims of Colorado residents if their life, health, or annuity insurer becomes insolvent.

This is an independent contractor relationship with the Association. The Administrator has direct reporting responsibility to the Board of Directors. The Administrator is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Association and maintaining adequate professional staffing during times of varying work activity levels. Ability to effectively coordinate activities with other state guaranty associations through a national organization, as well as with insurance receivers and regulators, is essential. Some travel is required.

The candidate must possess substantial insurance and management experience in an insurance company or related setting such as regulatory, legal, or consulting. Desired, but not required, is a background in law or accounting. Prior experience with an insurance guaranty association or in a receivership setting is a plus.

Compensation package is comparable to positions of similar responsibility. Send resumes to the Association’s counsel: Frank O’Loughlin, Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, 1200 17th Street, Suite 3000, Denver, CO 80202 by close of business Friday, October 14, 2016.
