MPC Meets in Washington, D.C.
The Members’ Participation Council (MPC) conducted a hybrid in-person/online meeting on July 27, 2022, in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the 2022 Legal Seminar/Insolvency Workshop. Closed-session presentations (affected guaranty associations only) were conducted by the task forces for Global Bankers Insurance Group (North Carolina and Michigan), North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company (North Carolina), Penn Treaty Network America/American Network Insurance Companies (Pennsylvania), Senior Health Insurance Company of Pennsylvania (SHIP), and Time Insurance Company (Wisconsin).
The General Session also featured comments from NOLHGA Chair Kermitt Brooks on NOLHGA’s continuing emphasis on education, in particular the Legal Seminar/Insolvency Workshop; the MPC Chair Report by MPC Chair Margaret Sperry (Rhode Island), which included an update on the activities of the Administrators Education Steering Committee by Committee Chair Janis Potter (Illinois); and the NOLHGA Management Report by NOLHGA President Peter Gallanis and NOLHGA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mike Heard.
The MPC meeting also featured meetings of the MPC Executive Committee and the Administrators Education Steering Committee.
