Registration Opens for January 2026 MPC Meeting
Registration for the January 2026 MPC meeting in Bonita Springs, Florida, is now available through the meeting website. The site offers both in-person and virtual attendee registration for the meeting, which will be held on January 22–23. The agenda for the meeting will be released later this month, but we expect a full day of meetings on Thursday the 22nd and a half day (ending by noon) on Friday the 23rd.
Please note that non-members and guests will be charged a registration fee ($299 and $99, respectively) to cover meeting expenses. There is no charge for guaranty association members (Administrators, Board members, and staff) to attend the meeting.
The meeting website also offers online hotel reservations for the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, the host hotel for the meeting. The deadline for reservations at the NOLHGA rate of $369/night plus tax is December 31. The room block could sell out earlier than that, so we encourage everyone to book their rooms as soon as possible.

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Mais Retires
Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced the retirement of Insurance Commissioner Andrew Mais effective November 28, 2025. Mais, a former President of the NAIC, served as Commissioner since February 2019. He also served as the Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
Josh Hershman (CEO of Immigrant Life Insurance Company of America, which is domiciled in Connecticut) will serve as Interim Commissioner beginning December 12. Governor Lamont plans to nominate Hershman (who served as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the Connecticut Insurance Department from 2019 to 2022) to succeed Mais as Commissioner in early 2026.

On December 3, 2025, the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) announced that TK Keen has been chosen as the Oregon Insurance Commissioner. Keen has been serving in the Acting Insurance Commissioner role since June and was Deputy Insurance Commissioner for five years before that. He is also the Administrator of the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (DFR), which is part of the DCBS.
