Pusey to Speak on International Panel at Legal Seminar
Leigh Ann Pusey, President and CEO of the American Insurance Association (AIA), will take part in a panel discussion about developing international regulatory trends and their effect on U.S. companies that will be held at NOLHGA's Legal Seminar in July.
The AIA is the nation's leading property-casualty insurance trade organization, representing 350 insurers that write more than $123 billion in premiums each year. Business Insurance Magazine has listed Ms. Pusey among its "Women to Watch," and Ms. Pusey is consistently recognized by The Hill publication as one of the top lobbyists in Washington. She is frequently quoted in the news media and consulted by policymakers and Wall Street for her views on issues facing the property-casualty industry.

The liquidator has filed a petition to make the third early access distribution to guaranty associations. The petition indicates the guaranty associations will receive approximately $4.2 million. This distribution represents the bulk of the current assets in the estate (the petition indicates $500,000 will be retained), with the only remaining significant asset yet to be recovered being a $2.8 million IRS refund. The task force expects the distribution to be received in the near future absent any objections being filed.
