GA Expenses Requested

The ACLIC Task Force has requested that NOLHGA collect financial information (inception through June 30, 2001) as it relates to claims and expenses paid in the insolvency. As such, each GA will soon receive a questionnaire, which will be similar in format to the financial questionnaires used in other liquidations. Please complete the form by the due date per the cover letter which will accompany the questionnaire. This will help both the Task Force and the Receiver in determining Class 1 and Class 3 liabilities. Thank you for prompt attention to this matter.

Legal Committee Subgroup On Health Issues Formed

Earlier this year, the NOLHGA Board of Directors appointed a Health Insurance Issues Committee charged with making recommendations on improving the guaranty system's ability for handling health insolvencies. As a complement to the efforts of that Committee, the Legal Committee has formed a Health Issues Subgroup to provide support with respect to various legal issues related to health insolvencies, including, among other issues, the handling of pre and post trigger premiums, post trigger premium adjustments, the issuance of substitute coverage and various issues related to health insurance policy cancellations.

The first telephonic meeting of the Legal Committee's Health Issues Subgroup will take place on July 27, 2001. The members of this Subgroup include Frank O'Loughlin (Subgroup Chair), Charles O'Loughlin, Carlisle Herbert, Merle Pederson, James Rhodes, Jack Falkenbach and Charlie Richardson. Merle Pederson chairs the Board Committee and Chuck Gullickson and Charlie Richardson are members of the Committee. William O'Sullivan and Joni Forsythe are the NOLHGA staff contacts for the Subgroup.
