September MPC Meeting Web Page Goes Live

The Web page for the September MPC meeting in Edina, Minnesota, has gone live. The page features online registration and hotel information for the meeting, which will be held September 1-3 at the Westin Edina Galleria.

The schedule for the meeting is still being finalized, but we expect that task force meetings will be held on September 1 (for the Shenandoah Life, Lincoln Memorial/Memorial Service, ELNY, and Medical Savings task forces) and September 2 (for the Universal Life/Booker T. Washington, Standard Life, and Penn Treaty task forces). An MPC Executive Committee meeting will likely be held on September 2, and the MPC General Session will be held on the morning of September 3. The General Session will include a follow-up presentation by the Coverage/Claims Committee on jointly owned annuities.

If you have any trouble accessing the meeting Web page, please contact Dan Hicks at [email protected] or 703.787.4112. If you have any questions about the meeting, contact Sean McKenna at [email protected] or 703.787.4106.

Online Expense Reports Due August 7

The task force is collecting information concerning expenses incurred by affected guaranty associations in connection with the Medical Savings Insurance Company insolvency. The expense data will be used for purposes of reporting and for submission of an Omnibus Proof of Claim for this case. Our initial survey will include expense information for the reporting period from inception through June 30, 2009. Thereafter, we will be asking affected associations to update their expense data on a quarterly basis.

Expense data should be submitted by affected associations using NOLHGA's online proof of claim survey tool. Please complete your submissions by August 7, 2009. Note: Please advise Gus Estrada by e-mail ([email protected]) if you have no submissions to report. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Estrada or Joni Forsythe (703.787.4103).
