Liquidator Files Motion to Release Premiums to GAs

On January 16, 2008, the liquidator for the American Chambers estate filed a "Motion for Approval of Liquidator's Release of Premiums to Insurance Guaranty Associations." These funds represent premiums for post-liquidation coverage periods that were initially collected by the liquidator. Court approval is expected quickly, and once the motion is approved, checks totaling $3.2 million will be mailed by the estate directly to 35 of the 38 affected associations for whom the estate is holding premium funds.
