New Jersey Life Insurance Company's territory consisted of 47 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Its offerings concentrated on premium whole life insurance products. In 1993, the company was issued an order of liquidation. The state life and health insurance guaranty associations helped arrange for American General Life Insurance Company to assume the company's policyholder liabilities the same year.
